AeroPress Travel Coffee Maker

The Best Travel Coffee Maker

The AeroPress is the brewer we recommend for serious coffee on the move. Compact, near-unbreakable plastic, brews a clean cup in about a minute. The founders use it on operations, on the move, and at home. Customers use it on camping trips, commuter desks, hotel rooms, and in gym bags.

Ground coffee in the chamber, hot water on top, stir, wait, press. One vessel, one filter, one minute.

How to brew with an AeroPress

1. Place a paper filter in the cap and rinse with hot water to remove any paper taste.
2. Add 15 to 17g of medium-fine ground coffee to the chamber.
3. Pour 220 to 240ml of hot water (93 to 96°C) over the grounds.
4. Stir gently for 10 seconds.
5. Insert the plunger and press down slowly. Aim for 30 to 60 seconds of total press time.

What grind to use

Medium-fine. Sits between drip grind and espresso grind. If you don't have a grinder, our ground coffee (ground for cafetière) works in an AeroPress.

Best coffee for AeroPress

The AeroPress brings out clarity in the cup that gets muddied in a cafetière. That makes it the right brewer for Single Origin Coffees, where you actually want to taste the origin character.

• Battle Prep: Brazil and Latin America blend, balanced, chocolatey, the daily driver.
• Sample Bags: four 100g bags to try the range before committing.

How strong is AeroPress coffee?

AeroPress coffee sits between filter and espresso for extraction. The bean and grind matter far more than the brewer. Read our coffee strength scale guide to see where AeroPress coffee sits on the strength scale and what actually makes coffee strong.
